About The Position

The Registered Nurse works under the direction of the physician and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide nursing care to patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. The nurse utilizes the nursing process to make continuing assessments of the patient's total health needs, implements nursing interventions based on assessment data, develops and implements the nursing plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The position requires excellent patient care with compassion, tact, cheerfulness, accuracy, patience, flexibility in scheduling, calmness in emergencies, and the ability to work well with team members, receiving and applying feedback from peers and superiors. The nurse also assists with the orientation of new staff to the unit as requested.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program.
  • Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license.
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's in nursing.
  • Experience working in respective clinical area is desired.
  • Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse encouraged.
  • ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred.
  • One-year acute pediatric experience for Pediatrics.
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse encouraged.
  • Certified Critical Care Nurse encouraged for ICU.
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse encouraged for Progressive Care Unit.
  • Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing Certification encouraged for Women's Services.
  • Lactation Nursing Certification encouraged for Women's Services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based care to prevent the development of a Healthcare Acquired Condition and hospital readmissions.
  • Practice standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated materials.
  • Collect patient health data and complete nursing assessments according to hospital and unit specific policies.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify care needs and formulate a plan to provide appropriate care.
  • Implement nursing care based on identified nursing diagnoses and patient care standards.
  • Evaluate the patient's progress towards attainment of desired outcomes and revise nursing diagnoses as needed.
  • Coordinate nursing personnel and patient care quality.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing processes.
