About The Position

1.Ensures each patient is identified correctly in the system according to procedure by using at least 2 identifiers such as Name and DOB and reviewing the EPIC photo. 2.Highlight the wristband and have patient verify name and date of birth before placing the ID band on patient. Explain to the patient the ID band is for their safety. 3. Completes the pre-admission process for all patients presenting to the Emergency Center for treatment. 4.Explains forms to the patient and obtains signatures for consent for treatment/ financial responsibility, Privacy Notice and any other related forms. 5.Completes the registration process at bedside or no later than check-out according to policies and procedures established by the hospital. Demographics should be verified and financial information requested and updated no later than discharge from the EC. 6.Explains basic insurance information to the patient and requests deposits as indicated by Waystar Estimates. 7.Refer patients with inadequate financial means to Financial Navigator by providing the “What you should know about your Billing” information sheet. 8.Meets POSC goal for each scheduled shift. 9.Meets MSPQ compliance of 100% 10.Meets accuracy goal of 100% 11.Obtains IMM and MOON signatures on all Medicare patients prior to Admission to Unit. 12.Enters all payments received into the system, provides patient with receipt, completes all processes for posting payments, balancing cash drawer and credit card terminal at the end of shift and delivering to the Cashier’s drop box by end of shift. 13.Registers OP services after hours and weekends. 14.Complete Revenue Cycle Academy Sessions as scheduled. 15.Completes assigned W/Q daily. 16.Provides switchboard coverage in the absence of the operator. Performance must be consistent with the standards set for the switchboard operators. Must be familiar with all codes and disaster policies. 17.Monitors alarm panels and announces codes as indicated. 18.Assists with training of new registration associates. 19.Accurately scans all required documents to the patient’s account. 20.Obtains and attaches patient’s photo the account. 21.Assists with special projects as assigned such as Performance Improvement, Revenue Cycle Academy, POSC, TJC or others as identified.
