About The Position

The Staff Pad has partnered with Unity Medical Center to hire an ER RN Case Manager. This role is responsible for supporting patient flow, utilization review, and discharge planning within a fast-paced emergency department. The ER RN Case Manager collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure appropriate level of care, efficient throughput, and safe patient transitions.

Requirements

• Active and valid RN license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience, preferably in Emergency Room or acute care
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Nice To Haves

• Previous case management or utilization review experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform utilization review to determine medical necessity of ER visits, admissions, and services
• Coordinate discharge planning directly from the emergency department
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
• Facilitate patient transfers, admissions, and appropriate level-of-care decisions
• Identify barriers to discharge and coordinate solutions in real time
• Communicate with patients and families regarding care plans and next steps
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and payer guidelines
• Support efficient patient flow and throughput in the emergency department
