Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Emergency Department Registration Representative works under the direct supervision of the E.D. Patient Registration supervisor. The Registration Representative is responsible for interviewing the patient or his/her designee to obtain information pertinent to registration or admission to the hospital. Upon completion of the medical screening exam (MSE) the Representative will obtain insurance information, process with insurance verification and inform the patient of any financial obligations. The Registration Representative is to work in a cooperative manner to fulfill the goals of the department and hospital displaying courtesy with all patients, staff and visitors.

Requirements

• Good typing and spelling skills.
• Prior Customer Service Experience
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
