Correctly identifies patient and maintains accurate patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Collects Financial information including payment from the patient/guarantor. Obtains insurance information, benefits and obtains authorizations for services. Calculates insurance company co-payments, deductibles and collects financial responsibility due from patients at the time of admission or discharge. Obtain Medical and Financial Consents, secure proper signatures on required documents. Provides required information to patients concerning their Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.

Requirements

  • Reading and numerical competency
  • Minimum of 6 months general public contact in person or by phone. Preferably in a healthcare setting or healthcare insurance setting.
  • Must be able to handle detail work accurately and rapidly, must be able to interact with co-workers and other departments: possess good listening, verbal and written communication skills: appropriately handle high stress situations, basic computer and internet experience
