About The Position

This role is responsible for supervising ER Admission staff, monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining payer compliance, training of staff and supporting revenue cycle stability by preventing Patient Access-related claim denials or payment delays. The Supervisor ensures processes are organized, compliant, and proactive, while supporting team development and cross-department collaboration. The position is responsible for overseeing all functions of the ED Admissions Department staff to ensure patient safety and satisfaction as it relates to registration and admission, and to optimize the facility’s financial performance. This position performs a full range of assignments under the supervision of the Director. The applicant must demonstrate knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the employees, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their personal health information. Employee must demonstrate reliable attendance and professional behavior. The applicant is responsible for enforcing health care policies, managing scheduling, and addressing patient concerns. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all data collected in the admissions process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced Admission Clerical experience or other related work experience
  • Past experience with health care insurance payers
  • Open compassionate communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of health insurance
  • Efficient work processes
  • Understanding of health care billing practices
  • Understanding of front to back-end errors and the cause and effect
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven leadership experience strongly preferred
