Are you an empirical social scientist with a track record of extracting information from a few thousand data points, or a few hundred, or a few billion? Are you interested in learning and new techniques to augment your core skillset? Do you love to stake a position on what is about to happen, communicate your reasoning to others, and then find out if you turned out to be right or wrong? Do you want to understand what drives the stock markets? Are you excited by the prospect of working in diverse teams with a broad range of skillsets? Does your head turn if someone asks, 'Now how might we take this hypothesis to data?' Is research more fun for you when there is money on the line? We're looking for someone like that who can: hypothesis-driven empirical research methods to sell-side equity research, learn to build and maintain financial models to evaluate historical information and generate projections, use social science frameworks and industry knowledge to arrive at understandable investment opinions, remain current on market developments to help frame investment strategies, come to an informed view under a tight deadline, test hypotheses about companies, their customers, and their competitors, clearly communicate investment recommendations based on all of that work (via both verbal presentations and in written reports), and help to educate colleagues about replicable statistical computing workflows and habits.
