Research Morgan Stanley Investment Research is uniquely committed to being an essential part of our clients' investment process. Equity Research The Equity Research department is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals. It also collects and analyses financial information to make investment recommendations on stocks in specific sectors. Research analysts build financial models to explore alternative scenarios, examine industries and communicate with companies and investors. Equity Research team members discuss their analysis and investment recommendations in research notes. We are seeking an associate to join our Institutional Investor ranked Healthcare Services and Technology team. The team's coverage includes managed care, drug retailers, distributors, PBMs, labs, and Healthcare Technology. The primary responsibilities are but are not limited to:

Requirements

A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Investment Banking/M&A/Equity Research/ Strategy consulting.
Healthcare industry knowledge. Strong preference for individuals with knowledge of managed care industry.
Experience working with three statement financial models
Strong excel skills
Intellectual curiosity
Strong work ethics and organizational skills
Ability to work independently to produce accurate, detailed materials in tight deadlines
Attention to details
Ability to multi task

Responsibilities

Support the senior Healthcare Services analyst and team in detailed coverage of over 20 companies.
Follow industry changes, competitive dynamics, and financial trends to publish thought leading research on the healthcare supply chain.
Determine investment ratings and price targets using discounted cash flow, sum of the parts, and comparable company analysis.
Develop relationships and collaborate with company management teams, industry experts, and thought leaders to monitor market share shifts, industry trends, and policy impact on the healthcare industry.
Create and maintain company models develop earnings forecasts, and industry models leveraging skills in accounting, finance and economics.
Provide industry and company specific insights to Morgan Stanley’s institutional investor client base (leading hedge funds and mutual funds).
Conduct industry diligence and primary research through surveys, expert conference calls, and various channel checks to evaluate industry trends.
