About The Position

Jefferies is seeking an Equity Research Senior Associate to support the U.S. Chemicals team. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior analysts to deliver in‑depth company and industry research across the U.S. chemicals sector, including commodity, specialty, and diversified chemical producers. The role requires strong financial modeling capabilities, robust analytical skill, and extensive experience writing and editing both short‑form and long‑form equity research reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in equity research; Senior Associate level.
  • Extensive experience writing and editing short‑form and long‑form equity research reports.
  • All requisite licenses required to be a publishing analyst.
  • Significant hands‑on experience using Excel, Python, and AI tools in integrated workflows.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork.
  • Detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Intellectual interest in equity markets, industrials, chemicals, commodities, and related sectors.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred educational or professional background: investigative journalism, engineering, forensic accounting, or roles involving substantial writing for publication (including academic research).
  • Proficiency in Chinese, German and/or French is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Creation and maintenance of detailed earnings, cash flow, and valuation models across the U.S. chemicals sector (including commodity, specialty, and industrial chemical companies).
  • Use of advanced analytical workflows spanning Excel, Python, and AI technologies to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and data-driven insights.
  • Extensive writing and editing of equity research publications, including earnings previews and reviews, thematic industry reports, and company-specific analyses.
  • Analysis of industry and macro trends such as feedstock dynamics, pricing cycles, capacity additions, end‑market demand drivers, global supply chain developments, and other fundamental drivers.
