About The Position

The Equity Research Associate role at Jefferies & Company, Inc. is designed for a junior associate to support senior team members and the Senior Analyst in the Software sector. Initially, the focus will be on team operations, updating financial models, and executing research reports. Over time, the associate will take on more responsibility, potentially leading coverage on specific companies.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of combined experience in Equity Research or Investment Banking.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Strong financial modeling skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
• Ability to work long hours as required.

Nice To Haves

• CPA or progress toward CFA preferred but not required.
• Understanding of technology, specifically Software, with a preference for enterprise technology.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Analyst's coverage of 25+ companies alongside VPs and Senior Associates.
• Conduct due diligence on the Software sector.
• Monitor macro and sector-specific developments impacting covered companies.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models for both covered and uncovered companies.
• Write research reports on covered companies and the Software sector.
• Source and utilize third-party data to drive data-based conclusions.
• Attend meetings with senior management and industry conferences.
• Assist in managing the Senior Analyst's calendar.
