About The Position

The Equity Research Analyst - Industrials at Janus Henderson is responsible for conducting independent equity research to formulate investment recommendations on securities within the industrials sector. This role involves constructing financial models, undertaking research visits, and communicating findings to Portfolio Managers. The position emphasizes strong analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field required.
  • 5 or more years of industrials equity investment analyst experience required, preferably in long-only buy side or private equity.
  • CFA or willingness to commit to undertaking CFA required.
  • Strong stock picking skills with a proven track record of adding value.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong creativity, initiative, and drive.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate articulately, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions, as well as function effectively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Commitment to doing whatever it takes to build the business.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct equity research independently to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities in various industries, particularly in the international industrials sector.
  • Construct financial models to generate pertinent questions for the research process and forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows.
  • Undertake research visits and meetings to develop deep industry expertise, including interactions with competitors, customers, suppliers, and other relevant parties.
  • Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
