Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Minimum 3–5 years of welding experience in heavy civil, highway, or industrial construction
Proficient in structural and field welding techniques
Ability to pass welding tests as required (AWS, DOT, or company standards)
Experience welding carbon steel; experience with stainless or specialty metals a plus
Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols
Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the workday
Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project schedules requires
This position requires ensuring compliance with CMMC, FAR, and Accounting Standards in all Federal efforts.

Nice To Haves

Experience welding carbon steel; experience with stainless or specialty metals a plus
Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus

Responsibilities

Perform welding, cutting, brazing, and fabrication on heavy highway construction projects
Repair and modify heavy construction equipment, attachments, and tools
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
Set up and operate welding equipment (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, Oxy‑Fuel, Plasma)
Ensure welds meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards
Conduct pre‑ and post‑weld inspections and perform necessary repairs
Work closely with foremen, operators, and laborers to support field operations
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe working condition
Follow all company, OSHA, and DOT safety policies and procedures
Perform grinding, cutting, torch work, and general metal fabrication as needed
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites
