Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of welding experience in heavy civil, highway, or industrial construction
  • Proficient in structural and field welding techniques
  • Ability to pass welding tests as required (AWS, DOT, or company standards)
  • Experience welding carbon steel; experience with stainless or specialty metals a plus
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the workday
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project schedules requires
  • This position requires ensuring compliance with CMMC, FAR, and Accounting Standards in all Federal efforts.

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding, cutting, brazing, and fabrication on heavy highway construction projects
  • Repair and modify heavy construction equipment, attachments, and tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
  • Set up and operate welding equipment (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, Oxy‑Fuel, Plasma)
  • Ensure welds meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑weld inspections and perform necessary repairs
  • Work closely with foremen, operators, and laborers to support field operations
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe working condition
  • Follow all company, OSHA, and DOT safety policies and procedures
  • Perform grinding, cutting, torch work, and general metal fabrication as needed
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites
