The Equipment Trainer, in Rensselaer, IN, is responsible for providing structured training, coaching, and mentorship to new and existing associates within their assigned department. This role ensures associates are trained efficiently, safely, and consistently using established curriculum and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The trainer will continue to report to their current supervisor while also supporting the Training Coordinator’s team on an as-needed basis. Primary equipment training for new hires will be completed on a single shift (applicable to 1st and 2nd shift hires). Upon completion, associates will transition to their assigned shift and department, with continued coaching support provided as needed. Hours of Work 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM (Temporary schedule adjustments may be required based on training needs.)

Requirements

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (preferred).
Prior training, coaching, or mentoring experience.
Strong understanding of WMS and RF equipment, including department-specific transactions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Willingness to collaborate closely with others.
Demonstrates safe work habits consistently.
Punctual and dependable.
Proven ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Serve as a mentor to new associates within the facility.
Provide one-on-one training using standardized curriculum specific to job functions.
Ensure associates demonstrate competency prior to certifying training completion.
Work closely with the Training Coordinator to develop, maintain, and improve training curriculum.
Deliver hands-on training and coaching related to the operation of equipment within the facility.
Assist in maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions related to equipment training.
Provide feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives related to training processes.
Accurately document associates’ training progress and completion.
Lead by example by demonstrating safe, efficient, and effective work practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support company objectives.
