About The Position

In the role of Equipment Test Technician you will be a vital contributor to our laboratory operations, supporting the development, testing, and optimization of our products. Based at Rotex HQ in Cincinnati, OH you will have a direct impact on ensuring our offerings meet customer expectations and uphold our commitment to quality and innovation. Work You’ll Do Support the Lab Supervisor in daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficient, accurate testing and reporting processes. Conduct screening tests on material samples following established protocols to facilitate the sales and service of Rotex equipment. Collaborate with application staff to select suitable equipment solutions aligned with customer needs. Assist in identifying new product and market opportunities through lab testing and customer engagement. Support product development activities by participating in R&D testing, idea generation, and providing design and drawing support as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Provide backup support to application staff, answering questions related to laboratory testing procedures and results. Organize and file laboratory reports, samples, and related documentation in accordance with company procedures. Generate comprehensive report summaries and monitor lab activity to ensure smooth operations. Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, sales representatives, and customers. Contribute to ongoing process improvements and participate in continuous enhancement activities. Support the technical capabilities of the product development team and assist in training Rotex personnel and sales teams. Travel as needed to customer sites alongside Product Development Engineers and Application Engineers to support testing and solution implementation. Analyze market data for test samples, explore new data presentation methods, and identify opportunities to enhance customer reporting. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the laboratory and company. Requirements

  • High School diploma combined with 1-2 years laboratory, manufacturing quality testing experience or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to laboratory work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or testing laboratory environment, preferably within industrial or equipment manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with lean processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of product development processes and R&D testing.
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety standards applicable to laboratory environments.
  • Willingness to travel less than 5% for customer visits and support activities.
