About The Position

Berkeley Hall Club is seeking an Equipment Technician to join our Golf Course Maintenance Department. This position reports directly to the Equipment Manager and plays a key role in supporting the overall maintenance and performance of our equipment fleet. The Equipment Technician is responsible for repairing and servicing equipment, maintaining accurate records of parts and labor for each piece of machinery, and assisting with additional maintenance tasks as needed. This role places a strong emphasis on safety and requires maintaining a clean, organized service area and maintenance building. The technician works closely with the Equipment Manager to ensure the shop environment is efficient, safe, and well-maintained.

Requirements

Some mechanical experience preferred (golf course or similar is a plus).
Basic knowledge of small engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good attention to detail.
Reliable, team-oriented, and takes pride in doing quality work.
Ambition to grow into a lead or head mechanic position over time.

Responsibilities

Perform any Equipment Operator duties when needed.
Assist Head Equipment Technician and shop crew with maintenance and repair of any golf course and grounds equipment.
Grind, back-lap, sharpen and set up reel cutting units for mowers.
Perform preventative maintenance and service on all equipment.
Troubleshoot operational issues and deficiencies of all equipment.
Order parts and repair materials when directed to by the Head Equipment Technician.
All other duties deemed necessary by the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant, or Head Equipment Technician.
