About The Position

The Equipment Technician in the NICU is responsible for the maintenance and availability of medical equipment, particularly mechanical ventilators, ensuring they are clean, assembled, and ready for use. This role involves inventory management and compliance with health regulations, contributing to the overall mission of Hackensack Meridian Health to provide quality healthcare.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and assembles mechanical ventilators and prepares them for calibration.
• Cleans, assembles and checks all minor therapeutic and diagnostic equipment and makes them available for use.
• Performs inventory of disposable supplies, orders necessary supplies from storeroom, and coordinates the stocking of disposable respiratory therapy supplies.
• Refers inventory of non-storeroom supplies to Supervisor.
• Maintains and cleans all equipment used for deliveries and restocks in compliance with infection control standards and stores equipment safely.
• Maintains inventory of essential supplies.
• Maintains a clean supply storage area according to New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services regulations.
• Keeps Manager/Supervisor informed of equipment/supply needs.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
