About The Position

Responsible for assisting the surgical team before, during, and after surgery. This requires specialty knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the operative patient population and area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous healthcare experience preferred
• BLS certification highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and dresses all operative tables and prepares operative equipment under the direction of the OR team.
• Ensures availability of supplies, equipment and positioning devices in the OR as requested.
• Maintains equipment storage area. Follows appropriate steps in addressing equipment concerns.
• Restocks supplies and maintains PAR levels within ORs.
• Collaborates with operative team to ensure completeness of OR set up and room readiness.
• Transfers patient to the procedural area. Adheres to AHS policy in using 2 patient identifiers.
• Assists operative staff with patient transfer and positioning as directed.
• Assist environmental staff with room turnover. Cleans equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Handles O2 tanks for patient transport.
• Delivers surgical specimens to the lab as directed by the operative team, adhering to AHS policy.
• Will cover the anesthesia technician in his/her absence.
• Other related duties as assigned.
