About The Position

Envirotest is a proud subsidiary of Opus Inspection, the worldwide provider of vehicle emissions testing equipment and services. Our mission: to make the world a cleaner and safer place by providing highly effective solutions for vehicle inspection through innovative technologies, customer focus and operational excellence. We are looking for a talented Equipment Technician to conduct preventative maintenance and give technical field service support at all testing locations. Job Description: Accompany MDE during equipment audits and perform repairs and calibrations if needed for failing audit items Perform routine diagnostics, calibration, preventive maintenance and repair of emission analyzers and other lane systems following set schedules and procedures when not performing MDE audits Assist in maintenance and repair of other company electrical and electronic systems such as alarms, telephone computer peripheral systems Complete necessary paperwork and reports as needed Execute first-level diagnosis of hardware/software operational problems Main inventory of common failure items to ensure equipment is returned to operational status quickly. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have valid Drivers License and be in good standing with the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, pushing and pulling up to 50% of the time
  • Driving up to 30% of the time.
  • Knowledge of: computers, networks, hand tools, electronic tools and electronic test equipment in order to successfully troubleshoot and solve problems on a day-to-day basis.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently.
  • Familiarity with centralized lane software, FIS software, and Kiosk software.
  • Must maintain integrity and discretion while working with MDE.
  • Must be familiar with test equipment, including emissions analyzers, digital voltmeters and other types of testing equipment.
  • Proven written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities
