About The Position

The Equipment Sales Specialist at Patterson Dental is responsible for promoting and generating sales of dental equipment products and services within a defined territory. This role involves building relationships with dental offices, coordinating equipment installations, and managing new and remodeled dental office design projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of business-to-business outside sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong initiative with exceptional customer service, planning, and organization skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and negotiate.
  • Previous success in attaining and exceeding sales goals is a plus.
  • General computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
  • 3+ years of dental industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales growth across multiple equipment categories.
  • Develop relationships with doctors and key practice staff.
  • Execute effective cold call strategies to acquire new accounts.
  • Generate referrals from current customers and manufacturers' representatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule events such as technical demonstrations and co-travels.
  • Prepare for sales visits and develop client-specific sales strategies.
  • Develop short and long-term business goals.
  • Seek information regarding Patterson products, competitive intelligence, and industry information.
  • Analyze customer's business for needs and selling opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other sales professionals to demonstrate and sell equipment and technology.
  • Discuss equipment and technology solutions based on customer needs and emerging trends.
  • Explain benefits and features of equipment and technology solutions to customers.
  • Communicate financial benefits of equipment purchases such as ROI and tax advantages.
  • Utilize software to draw plans for new or remodeled facility projects.
  • Prepare project schedules and monitor progression of facility projects.
  • Evaluate project plans and blueprints, coordinating with designers and contractors.
  • Provide post-sale support to customers and demonstrate proper use of products or equipment.
  • Respond to customer queries and solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Hold client relationship meetings to monitor satisfaction levels with Patterson's service and support.
  • Consult with customers in choosing real estate agents and service providers.
