Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in animal science from four-year college or university with a focus on meat preferred; or five years related industry or capital equipment sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess, or obtain, a valid passport
  • Microsoft Office Suite - intermediate knowledge
  • CRM Experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of meat plant operations and related equipment
  • Excellent consultative selling, follow-up and closing skills required
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is re quired to sit, talk, listen and frequently use hands to finger, handle, type, and feel.
  • Required to occasionally stand and travel both domestically and abroad to visit work and customer sites.
  • Be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify and pursue new sales opportunities within the market segment
  • Make regularly scheduled proactive calls and visits to targeted customers to generate sales; track and measure these calls through the sales process
  • Achieve budgeted sales, margins, and net profit goals of the business unit
  • Provide consultation to customers on equipment capabilities and how it can impact their business
  • Use current software package (CRM) to plan the workload, create and track customer interactions, opportunities, and orders
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, challenges, and product performance concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Build long-term relationships with key accounts, stakeholders, and decision makers
  • Recognize opportunities to cross-sell other products that he organization offers
  • Assist with customer equipment demonstrations and seminars (UltraSource Academy prepared meats short course)
  • Up to 30% travel is required, which may fluctuate each year according to trade shows, training visits, and customer visits and installations
  • Review trade publications to stay current with the marketplace, technological developments, competitor offerings, and to garner customer leads
