The ideal candidate will have broad management experience in the operation and maintenance of construction equipment, specifically wheel loaders. This experience should include; relationship building with OEM's and their dealers, repair evaluation and decision making, invoice oversight and approval, purchase/ replacement evaluation and managing warranty and policy programs. In addition, the ability to teach basic operation and equipment maintenance to company employees is essential. The position requires a solid understanding of industrial safety. Being familiar with OSHA's General Industry section (29CFR1910) is essential. Researching Federal, State and Local agency regulations is an ongoing activity. To a lesser extent the position calls for environmental knowledge and experience. Specific areas would include, fuel storage tank regulations, hazardous material regulations and storm water regulations. In all areas public speaking is central to the position. The candidate must be comfortable teaching the technical aspects of equipment operation, maintenance, safety policy and programs and environmental compliance. Presentations will be made to all levels from hourly to executive both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Time management skills commensurate with an offsite position with minimal direct supervision.
  • 50%+ travel. Responsibility includes locations across Midwest. May require extended travel for events like company expansion and catastrophe response.
  • Requires above average communication skills including writing (memo, presentations, correspondence, and email) and verbal skills including leading group training sessions, teaching and training during field visits.
  • 3-5 years' experience maintaining/operating construction equipment.
  • Experience with safety programs in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA General Industry Standards to include; Powered Industrial Trucks, Haz-Com, PPE and Blood Borne Pathogen
