About The Position

The Equipment Repair Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment and machinery within the public areas. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of public spaces to provide an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus
  • Proven experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a hospitality or similar environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment with high call volume
  • Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls. The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
  • The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on various equipment and machinery in public areas, including but not limited to, elevators, escalators, automatic doors, and public restrooms.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and conduct necessary repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Ensure all equipment is in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct safety checks and tests on equipment and take appropriate actions to address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist in maintaining fire and emergency systems in public areas.
  • Be on call for emergency repairs and respond promptly to critical equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments during emergency situations to ensure guest safety and comfort.
