At TelCom Construction, as an Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of phone and internet infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate various types of trenching and digging equipment, including Plows, Backhoes/Excavators, Rock Saws, Dozers/Lead Tractors, and Tractor Trailers. You will be tasked with installing and maintaining underground fiber optic and other telecommunications cabling service lines, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest safety standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for restoring and landscaping disturbed areas of the job site, digging pits, trenches, and potholes as directed by the job plan, and setting up and cleaning up the site as needed. In this role, you will also load and unload tools, materials, and equipment, and set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and safety barriers. You will need to follow instructions carefully and possess a basic ability to use small tools and hand tools. Effective communication with crew members, customers, and vendors is essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during operations. The position may require overtime, including after regular business hours and weekends, and travel may be necessary for certain job assignments.
