The Equipment Operator will work under the general supervision of the Plant Manager, operating various equipment including water trucks, graders, front-end loaders, and pickup trucks. Responsibilities also include performing routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, reporting needed repairs, and maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and practices, performing daily housekeeping, and workplace inspections.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Basic math and computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Operates various equipment including water trucks, graders, front-end loaders and pickup trucks.
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
  • Reports maintenance and repairs needed to management.
  • Operates graders for leveling.
  • Operates front-end loaders as required.
  • Operates excavators as required.
  • Operates water trucks as required.
  • Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping and related assignments.
  • Will maintain a safe working environment, adhere to safety policies and practices, perform daily housekeeping of assigned area, perform daily workplace inspections, adhere to plant policies and proper use of plant radios.
  • Should be familiar or willing to be trained on MSHA safety rules, safety procedures for plant mobile equipment, lockout/Tagout policy, confined spaces policy, hot work policy, lubricants, paints/solvents and other environmentally sensitive materials.
