Equipment Operator- Asphalt Maintenance
About The Position
The City of Peoria Public Works has an excellent opportunity for an Equipment Operator in the Street Maintenance Asphalt Division. This position performs a variety of construction and maintenance tasks by operating a variety of heavy construction equipment including, asphalt pavers, loader's, dump trucks, water trucks, backhoes, street sweepers, steel drum asphalt rollers, grade tractors and milling machines. This position is a 4-10 schedule Monday through Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalency.
- 9-12 months experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
- Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
- Minimum valid Arizona Class "B" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) upon hire.
- Class "A" CDL and/or Tanker and HazMAT endorsement may be required within Twelve (12) months of hire depending upon assignment.
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL with tankers endorsement
- 9-12 months heavy equipment experience
- 9-12 months asphalt paving experience
