About The Position
Martin Marietta is currently looking for energized individuals to join our team at our open pit limestone quarry in our Cedar Rapids Quarry, IA. This position would be responsible for operating a haul truck. Location The Cedar Rapids Quarry is more than just a source of aggregate—it is an essential engine for Eastern Iowa’s growth and connectivity. Every ton of limestone extracted fuels the expansion of regional infrastructure, from the revitalization of local commerce to the reinforcement of the neighborhood foundations where we live and work. Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- 1+ years of related experience
- Valid US driver’s license
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating a variety of off-road haul trucks and other equipment utilized in mining which could include loaders, skid loaders, etc.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area assigned
- Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, clean equipment
- Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed
- Other mining related duties as required
- Operating any of our equipment and any daily work assigned
