About The Position
Martin Marietta is currently looking for energized individuals to join our team at Linn County Sand Plant in Ely, IA. This position would be responsible for operating a variety of mining equipment, including skid loader and dredge, haul trucks, loaders and water trucks. Location The Linn County Sand location is more than just a source of high-quality material—it is an essential engine for Eastern Iowa’s growth and environmental resilience. Every ton of sand and gravel extracted fuels the expansion of regional infrastructure, from the construction of vital transportation corridors to the development of sustainable commercial and residential projects. Martin Marietta’s dedication to environmental stewardship and operational excellence ensures the Linn County Sand facility remains a vital partner in building a durable, high-performing future for the corridor and the communities we serve.
Requirements
- High school Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 1-year previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities
- Must have a valid US driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Bi-Lingual is a plus
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating a variety of off-road haul trucks and other equipment utilized in mining which could include dredge, loaders, skid loader, etc.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area assigned
- Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, clean equipment
- Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed
- Other mining related duties as required
