About The Position

Operates medium sized equipment, including forklifts, bobcats and loader and performs manual labor in the Recycling Center. Complete pre-operation and post-operation inspections on all equipment. Operate forklift in a safe and productive manner to move and stack bales, load and unload trucks, swap out hoppers, etc. Also, to move utility trailers, remove electronics from the electronic bins and operate a cascade forklift to empty containers that require rotation to empty. Operate a front-end loader in a safe and productive manner while continuously feeding a baler conveyor line. Maintain the glass product to a safe level by filling the glass cans for pickup. Maintain visual observation of the baler indicators to assure proper baler operations and notify loader operator of possible jams. Maintain documentation of the number of product bales ran daily. Daily cleaning of equipment, blowing out filters and radiator. Maintain a safe and clean work areas at all times. Maintain vendor delivered product to the Recycling Center. Daily interaction with haulers and Hall County residents, always providing excellent customer service. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year Equipment Operator I experience required.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
  • Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, incumbents will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of, and skill in, operating various types of medium sized equipment.
  • Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor.
  • Ability to perform strenuous and routine work.
  • Ability to lift objects of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
