About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform semiskilled work in a variety of construction, repair and maintenance assignments involving the use of specialized tools; operates specialized and other equipment in connection with the semiskilled tasks to which assigned. Work is performed under regular supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must have 1 year of recent work experience in installation, concrete, or asphalt services.
• Must possess Class B CDL.
• Class A-57 CDL preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs general street, utility, building and grounds work and other maintenance.
• Operates dump truck and light to medium construction equipment.
• Installs and constructs drainage and roadway infrastructure.
• Repairs potholes, utility cuts, cave-ins, performs general street maintenance and repair work.
• Prepares and lays asphalt.
• Repairs road shoulders, cleans ditches, cuts and cleans rights-of-way.
• Does basic carpentry work.
• Sets forms and finishes concrete.
• Trims limbs and takes down trees.
• Repairs tools and equipment of a less complex nature.
• Operates backhoe, front-end loader, snowplow, dump trucks, utility trucks, ditch witch and similar equipment.
• Maintains files and records of who delivered materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
