Construction Equipment Operator
About The Position
Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Heavy/Highway Equipment Operators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining and operating various pieces of equipment with the ability to labor when necessary. Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit-Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation to and from work site
- Strong work ethic
- Strong math skills
- Physical Organization and time management
- Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
- Consent to a DMV license evaluation
- Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and MSHA Training
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
- Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
- Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read and understand SDS
- Ability to work in all types of weather
- Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred
- Prior construction experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred
- Basic math skills

- Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner

- Control and adjust equipment as needed
- Basic troubleshooting

- Cross train in other departments for back up
