About The Position

The position involves operating heavy, material-moving construction equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, and productive movement of aggregate material. The role requires performing field engineering, welding, fabrication, and major repairs of all plant equipment in conjunction with the plant operator to maintain high safety and production standards at the aggregate production facility. Adherence to proper GOH/MSHA safety practices and procedures is mandatory. The position also includes conducting pre and post-shift inspections of plant and equipment, working as a team member, and utilizing small hand and power tools, torches, and welding equipment. Additional responsibilities include rebuilding various crushers and screens, maintaining company equipment, and potentially traveling to other job locations. The role may require working more than 40 hours per week, including non-traditional hours such as night shifts, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge to perform the essential functions.
• Knowledge of safe operation of mobile equipment and MSHA regulations.
• Ability to demonstrate safe working practices and effective problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Certificate or degree in heavy equipment operation preferred.
• Experience operating light equipment such as skid steers and water trucks.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy, material-moving construction equipment.
• Perform field engineering, welding, fabrication, and major repairs of plant equipment.

• Perform fabrication and field engineering requirements.
• Rebuild various crushers and screens including bearings, brass, and wear parts.
• Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and housekeeping in and around the plant area.
• Assist Plant Operator with daily preventative plant maintenance.
