As an Equipment Operator in the Bindery department, your role is to operate a variety of bindery equipment, such as a paper cutter, folder machine, booklet maker, Stitcher and other bindery equipment as an expert and a high attention to detail, as a main focus of the role. The role will also be crossed trained into other areas of the department so that order volume and customer demand can be taken care of. Another part of this role will be helping with and backing up local deliveries to customers. May do setups, adjustments and cleanups. At higher levels may include equipment with multiple inline processes. Operates equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, within quality guidelines and in a timely fashion. May have to complete formal training in area of specialty with no to minimal prior experience in the field or in a related area. Be able to read job tickets, help process jobs and understand functions before and after the bindery department. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
