About The Position

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Equipment Operator 4 within the Division of Parks and Watercraft, headquartered at West Branch State Park Construction, assigned to Portage county. Please note this position requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License with no restrictions. Please note this is a travel position. You will be traveling to different parks due to current park needs for construction & repairs. What you will do… Will operate a variety of heavy construction equipment to complete construction and maintenance projects within ODNR. Performs routine maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings/ground maintenance Maintains & completes accurate & concise maintenance records, project logs & reports Position requires a Class A CDL, with no restrictions Overnight travel required at least 50% of your work week within the state of Ohio Starting hourly pay of $22.60/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service, with an end salary of $25.77/hr There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule & longevity rates. OCSEA Employees | Department of Administrative Services Formal education in arithmetic to include fractions, decimals & percentages & to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g., 10 ton crawler, large cranes, 10 ton backhoe, 18 ton dozer, over 44,000 pound gradall, truck mounted excavator) & related safety practices; valid commercial driver's license; in addition, for positions in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry Wildfire Program only, must successfully complete Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130/S-190). Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Requirements
