CTL Engineering/CTL Infrastructure has openings for Equipment Operator 2 for
infrastructure projects!

We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for Equipment Operators
who will play a key role in all aspects of construction services on infrastructure projects, performing skilled functions such as working in the construction and maintenance of highways, municipal waterline systems, etc.

Highlights:

Operating and maintaining various equipment such as a fork truck, end loader, skid steer, rollers, utility tractor, brush chipper, as well as various hand tools.
May be exposed to hazardous working conditions and inclement weather.
A
valid class A or class B Commercial Driver’s License is required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the procedures, techniques, and equipment used in the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and applicable safety standards and procedures in the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair methods practiced in the building maintenance trades.
• Ability to repair and maintain tools and equipment used.
• Ability to read operating manuals and specifications in the area of assignment.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to climb high steel structures.
• Ability to operate and maintain highway equipment and attachments.
• Ability to diagnose less complex mechanical problems and follow appropriate procedures for repair.
• Ability to maintain routine records (timecards, work repair orders).
• Ability to use hand tools and operate motorized equipment in the area of assignment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to train and work cooperatively with other skilled and semi-skilled workers.
• No formal education required.
• This is the entry level classification in this series.
• No prior experience is required.
• The selected candidate will be placed in an Apprenticeship Program - progress through the Apprenticeship Program as well as the opportunity for advancement to a higher classification is dependent upon hours completed, proficiency in work, training completed, as well as obtaining and maintaining a class A or class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
• A valid class A or class B Commercial Driver’s License is required. (no substitutions)

Responsibilities

• Drive dump, flatbed, or tandem-axle trucks.
• Operating motorized highway maintenance equipment such as skid steer, utility tractor, aerial bucket truck, front-end loader, tandem-axle truck, etc.
• Making major repairs to highways, culverts, bridge structures, etc.
• Making minor mechanical repairs in the field such as changing tires, blades, or filters.
• Responsible for equipment maintenance including but not limited to cleaning and lubricating equipment and checking fluid levels.
• Operate power vegetation equipment and attachments.
• Operate maintenance equipment and attachments.
• Operate heavy vehicles/GVWR 26,001 or greater.
• Patch cement, pavement and bridge decks.
• Seal joints and cracks in paved surfaces.
• Clean equipment and workshop.
• Transport fuel to equipment.
• Flagging, erecting traffic control signs and barricades on construction and maintenance projects, shoveling materials, cleaning culverts, mowing, and brush cutting.
• May be exposed to hazardous working conditions and inclement weather.
• Performs other related duties as required.
