About The Position

The Equipment Operations Manager oversees all activities related to the purchasing, storing, issuing, fitting, and repairing of athletic equipment, clothing, and uniforms for university sports teams. This role is crucial for managing facility operations within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, ensuring compliance with university policies, and maintaining high standards for equipment management and laundry services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
  • Two years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
  • Athletic Equipment management experience with relevant work experience of up to 1 year or better.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience working in equipment operations and handling team laundry preferred.
  • Athletic Equipment Managers certification preferred (can be supported after hire).
  • CPR, First Aid Certification (can be completed after hire).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities related to athletic equipment and apparel for all intercollegiate athletics programs.
  • Develop and enforce equipment room policies, including hours of operation.
  • Serve as the Athletics Department liaison to university facilities management.
  • Enforce university facility policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate CSU work-order process for athletic department needs.
  • Provide laundry services for all intercollegiate teams, including distribution and collection of uniforms.
  • Assess annual needs for activities and laundry; support budget requests and assist with equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with head coaches and athletic administration to purchase equipment and uniforms through approved vendors.
  • Facilitate practice and game uniform purchases to ensure compliance with CSU branding requirements.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive inventory system for equipment and apparel.
  • Manage laundry operations for cleaning of practice and competition uniforms.
  • Maintain laundry room equipment.
  • Assist with game operations duties as appropriate.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student workers.
  • Oversee other facility projects designated by the Director of Athletics.
