About The Position

The Equipment Mechanic's primary function is to service and repair heavy construction equipment. The Mechanic must perform daily maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor. In addition, Mechanics are required to perform repairs to equipment as needed. The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties:

Requirements

  • Ability to perform daily maintenance checks
  • Ability to report mechanical or safety issues
  • Experience in repairing heavy construction equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb equipment's ladder to reach the operator's seat

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and repairing heavy equipment failure
  • Lubricating components
  • Welding and fabricating components
  • Servicing hydraulic systems
  • Track and transmission maintenance
  • Delivering and installing parts on equipment at the job site
  • General cleanup of equipment
  • Checking, changing, and maintaining fluids
  • Operating equipment rollers, trucks, pavers, shuttle buggies, milling machines, dozers, cranes, excavators, and front-end loaders, and any other equipment employee is able to operate
  • Maintenance of all equipment and tools
