About The Position

The Role In this role, you will work on various makes and models of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial lifts, floor scrubbers and industrial batteries. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, and making necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner. Every day, you will work on equipment under the guidance of senior technicians while continuing to build your skills and knowledge as a mechanic. To thrive in this position, you must be a self-starter, a team player, and willing to learn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who wants to grow into a skilled technician role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have any previous experience with mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Must have interest for continuous learning on the job.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Any working knowledge in electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Basic experience with electrical circuitry and machinery

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Repairs and replaces any component on lift trucks.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses lift trucks to determine faults, failures, or extent of malfunction/damage, including mechanical components located beneath the lift trucks.
  • Disassembles units and inspect parts/components for wear over time.
  • Tears down, repairs, and rebuilds faulty components or assemblies.
  • Repairs and services electrical systems.
  • Inspects, adjusts, repairs, and rebuilds brake systems.
  • Reads display for fault codes and downloads software updates.
  • Replaces and adjusts lights and installs and repairs accessories as required.
  • Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
  • Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as lubrication and tune-ups.
  • Test-drives forklifts and tests components and systems for safety.
  • Performs post-delivery inspections on new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate digital service records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with inventory of parts and tools for the department.
  • Support other warehouse operations and special projects as needed.
