About The Position

Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC officially began competing in MLS in April 2021, and in the 2025 season qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs while also reaching and hosting the final of the U.S. Open Cup. Austin FC plays its home matches at Q2 Stadium, a 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art stadium which earned certification as a zero-waste venue in 2024. Austin FC sold out all 88 MLS home matches it played at Q2 Stadium during its first five seasons in the league, including three home MLS Cup Playoff matches. Austin FC also operates Austin FC II, a professional-level development team competing in MLS NEXT Pro which won the league title during its inaugural season in 2023. In addition, Austin FC operates Austin FC Academy which is the fully funded developmental academy representing the highest level of competition for elite youth soccer players in Central Texas, while serving as the exclusive developmental pathway to MLS for the region’s most talented young players. Combined, Austin FC II and Austin FC Academy teams complete the pro player pathway between elite youth soccer (MLS NEXT) all the way to MLS, and allow for players to develop, improve, and move up to Austin FC or Austin FC II. Austin FC II is actively seeking a passionate and organized Equipment Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping inventory of second-team equipment and ensuring all players and staff have the necessary and proper equipment for training and games. This position will involve travelling with the team on all away trips and working with the Manager of Team Operations to ensure seamless travel for the team. This position will report to the Head Equipment Manager for Austin FC’s First Team. This position will be based in Austin, TX and the role will be in-person at St. David’s Performance Center. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a professional equipment environment
  • Experience using a heat press
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with diverse audiences
  • Attention to detail and dedicated work ethic
  • Knowledge of best practices and commitment to remain up to date with industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Keep inventory, and maintain required team equipment, apparel, footwear, and locker room supplies when needed for Austin FC II
  • Assist in providing 30 plus players and staff with appropriate and proper equipment for training sessions and matches
  • Assist with packing and execute transportation of team equipment for away trips and preseason
  • Assist Technical Staff with day-to-day training session setup
  • Assist Head Equipment Manager with day-to-day tasks and with special projects such as post-match laundry, finding creative storage solutions, maintaining relationships between players and technical staff
  • Support team before and during training sessions and assist in preparation for matches which includes early morning hours and weekend availability.
