Mount Vernon Country Club, located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for Equipment Manager/Mechanic. Mount Vernon Country Club was established in 1915 and is considered on of the premier private clubs in Central Ohio. Members enjoy a state-of-the-art athletic center, two pools, and fine dining in an exclusive environment. The well-appointed clubhouse is a popular event and wedding reception destination for members and their guests.

Requirements

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Prolonged periods working on vehicles and equipment.
  • Must be physically able to access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on back.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and services club equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
  • Maintains a clean and safe repair shop.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Spot check equipment for performance on the course, frequently makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.
  • When necessary, under the direction of Golf Course Superintendent, may be required to assist other club departments with mechanical repairs.
  • Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning and safe operation of equipment.
  • Knowledge of mower reel technology – How to grind, set up, and adjust cutting units for precision mowing of all fine turf on the property
  • Develop and implement a detailed preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability and longevity
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment service, parts inventory, and operating costs
