About The Position

The primary objective of this role is to establish and maintain safe as well as reliable lab infrastructure through installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of test equipment, workshop assets, and facility utilities. As environmental chambers and chillers account for the largest amount of test systems currently supported, skills and related work experience with these system types is greatly preferred. A successful candidate for this position must have a broad background and a proven record of success in HVAC & refrigeration, ideally with a focus on test equipment utilizing refrigeration circuits. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement to establish effective working relationships within Tesla as well as with our suppliers. A successful candidate for this position will take pride in their hands-on abilities, physical and digital organization skills, and attention to detail. They will appreciate a dynamic & fast paced work environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded accordingly.

Requirements

  • Technical or trade school degree related to HVAC, refrigeration, environmental chambers or other applicable equipment repair
  • A minimum of 1 year of repair and maintenance experience related to environmental chambers, chillers, or other refrigeration equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with repair and maintenance of test equipment or similar equipment utilized in a lab environment
  • Hands-on technical experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures, associated material planning, and execution of identified repair work
  • Experience in pipe fitting and industrial plumbing
  • EPA 608 certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of test equipment, workshop assets and facility infrastructure
  • Perform installation and commissioning of test equipment, workshop assets, and facility infrastructure
  • Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule of all test equipment, workshop assets, and facility infrastructure within assigned area of responsibility
  • Interact with company external contracted talent and service personnel to manage equipment installation, commissioning, or repair projects
  • Support Ad Hoc work requests related to test and engineering efforts as needed
