About The Position

As a member of our Maintenance Team, you will be the go-to expert responsible for keeping our operations running smoothly. Your role will involve repairing the equipment used by our associates daily and ordering the necessary parts and supplies to ensure everything remains in top shape. You will also recommend repairs or replacements when needed, ensuring our equipment performs at its best, allowing our team to work safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of complex material handling equipment issues, providing recommendations for repair or replacement of poorly functioning equipment, and assisting in developing a preventive maintenance schedule. You will efficiently prioritize the repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule and maintain an adequate inventory of necessary spare parts and materials. Keeping management informed of activities and significant concerns will be crucial, as will reporting major concerns or significant problems. Additionally, you will provide quality oversight to less experienced technicians and manage the installation of RF units and scan guns. Your role will also involve handling more complex diagnostics and repairs, including electrical systems, hydraulic and brake systems, while performing duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for the location.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training.
  • Certified Material Handling Engineer Mechanic.
  • 2-4 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment.
  • Machining and fabrication experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex equipment.
  • Solid understanding of material handling equipment.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work well independently.
