About The Position

The Equipment Engineering Technician - Diffusion at Tower Semiconductor is responsible for advanced repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance of semiconductor equipment in the Diffusion area. This role requires leadership in evaluating maintenance needs to ensure maximum equipment availability, interfacing with production and engineering teams to resolve process-related issues, and providing technical guidance to lower-level technicians. The technician will also lead initiatives to improve equipment maintenance procedures and systems, analyze equipment failures, and participate in safety events.

Requirements

• Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics or equivalent.
• 5+ years technical experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum and pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits, motor control systems, and test procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot to component level.
• Direct working experience with Applied Materials Producer, Novellus C1/C2 Sequel/C2 Speed/C2 Altus is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced level repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance for semiconductor equipment in the Diffusion area.
• Evaluate and provide maintenance requirements to ensure maximum availability of production equipment.
• Interface with Production and Engineers to identify and resolve process-related issues.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and lead team activities during shift pass-downs.
• Analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technical solutions.
• Collect equipment-specific performance data and work with Engineering to implement solutions.
• Provide technical equipment-specific training to lower-level technicians.
• Interface with vendor support to resolve equipment-related failures.
• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair on malfunctioning equipment to component level.
