About The Position

This posting is for an equipment technician in the CMP equipment engineering organization at one of Tower Semiconductor's 200mm wafer fabs located in San Antonio, Texas. The position is for back-end nights, which start at 5:45 PM and end at 6:00 AM, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday (compressed work week). As part of the equipment team, you will work in a collaborative environment, sharing responsibility for monitoring, sustaining, and maintaining/improving the equipment in the CMP process module, while working in partnership with manufacturing, module engineers, and other internal stakeholders. As a shift equipment technician, you will monitor tool performance, perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use electro-mechanical skills to perform corrective maintenance when required on your designated shift.

Requirements

  • Associates of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology, related field of study, or equivalent military experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal assistance.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits analysis.
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office suite.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an equipment technician in the semiconductor industry supporting any CMP equipment.
  • Minimum 4 years of direct experience supporting any of the following CMP 200mm tool sets: AMAT Mirra 3400, AMAT Mirra-Trak, AMAT Mirra Mesa, Lam Ontrak Series IICE, Lam Ontrak Synergy, Strasbaugh 6DSP-SP, Air Liquide BCDS.
  • Fundamental understanding of SPC principles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform consumable changes, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on semiconductor equipment in the CMP module.
  • Problem solving using procedures and technical documentation to resolve problems in non-functioning tools in the CMP module.
  • Participate in activities to develop, document, and improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems; working from procedures, blueprints, sketches, drawings, and diagrams.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to written instructions and vendor documentation.
  • Assist in analyzing and resolving recurring maintenance problems.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform system verification and troubleshoot.
  • Interface with Equipment Engineer, Process Engineer, and area Manager/Group Leader to identify and resolve equipment and process-related issues supporting production.
  • Participate in the activities of the area shift pass-downs, and work on set priorities based on production requirements.
