Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in technical field – Electronics, Electromechanical, Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, or similar equivalent military experience, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Six or more years of experience as an equipment technician maintaining semiconductor processing equipment.
  • Focus tool sets are vertical diffusion furnaces and linear wet sinks.
  • Experience on some of the following tools would be an advantage; ASM A400 Classic furnaces, ASM DUO furnaces, TEL SE and SEi furnaces, linear wet sinks.
  • Broad knowledge of electronic, robotic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems related to semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to component level when necessary.
  • Experienced in the use of schematics, hand tools, DVM, oscilloscope and other common diagnostic test equipment.
  • Good communication skills required.

  • Implement solutions for continuous improvement of machine availability, cycle time, MTBF, scrap reduction, cost of ownership, and equipment long downs.
  • Ensure timeliness of projects are met using time management/project management skills.
  • Ensure excellent attention to detail and follow up pertaining to projects, maintenance, and equipment to maximize operational production and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety procedures and expectations which include knowledge of hazards and necessary precautions for assigned tool set(s) and following Lock out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Adhere to all clean room protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor equipment in the area and be familiar with equipment and process related issues within the module.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance proficiently with 'root-cause' solutions for all repairs.
  • Develop model-based troubleshooting plans for extended tool downs.
  • Perform data analysis of tool performance on assigned tool, propose improvements and drive improvement activities based on this data.
  • Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to troubleshoot and determine the health of tools in the area.
  • Maintain a clean working area and follow 5S principles during repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed.
  • Ability and willingness to share expert knowledge with younger technicians and engineers to help elevate the overall capability of the group.
