Position Summary In your role as a Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) / Thin Films Leader you'll lead the equipment engineering sub team dedicated to LAM vendor equipment. You'll be focused on configuring LAM tools for advanced 2nm technology nodes, coordinating tool installation, performing tool-to-tool matching, and qualifying the recipes. Long-term focus will be developing maintenance procedures, training programs, implementing defense lines to prevent excursions, and continuously improving tool metrics to meet manufacturing goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or related degree (Materials Eng., Physics, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 5+ years experience in high volume semiconductor manufacturing.
  • 2+ years leadership experience of at least 5 or more people, or 4+ years technical leadership experience leading task force teams.
  • Previous work experience in engineering discipline in a Class1-1000 cleanroom environment.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods to evaluate the results of changepoints and experiments.
  • Strong foundation in Lean / 5S methodology
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing corrective actions
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.

Responsibilities

  • The equipment team leader must understand department objectives and provide effective oversight to their team members to achieve targets for safety, quality, and production.
  • Translating departmental goals into measurable tasks for their team.
  • Facilitating annual performance management and compensation process for their direct reports including hiring, training and developing team members.
  • Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting direction to direct reports for LAM tools.
  • The applicant should possess a high level of technical understanding of semiconductor machinery, facilities, and components.
  • Developing / approving safety-minded standard operating procedures to guide maintenance activity on the tools.
  • Ensuring the team adheres to sitewide safety standards and communicating safety bulletins to the team.
  • Coordinating with tool vendors to prioritize work and communicating help needs.
  • Identifying field work for the engineering team by regularly walking the tool installation site.
  • Ensuring tools have robust defense lines applied to prevent impact to product.
  • Matching new tool output to reference tool (tool-to-tool matching).
