About The Position

We are currently hiring for a full-time Equipment Engineer in our Benicia, CA office. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and, sometimes, specialized training or certification. American Civil Constructors West Coast, MasTec’s Clean Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) segment established in 1987, is a Heavy Civil Construction company qualified to bid and perform work for State DOT's and City & County Public Works agencies all over the United States. Requirements

  • A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proficient in computer design software
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills including strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Great communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to multi-task and successfully coordinate your projects without direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or a similar engineering field

Responsibilities

  • Assist maintenance staff maintain and optimize trucking fleet and construction equipment such as volumetric mixers, pavers, and shot blasters to ensure project efficiency and safety production
  • Plan maintenance schedules, troubleshoot malfunctions, and often oversee equipment logistics, budgeting, and, in some cases, direct operation
