About The Position

Sigma Design has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to join their facility in Gresham, OR. This company is a leader in the design, development and production of synthetic diamond and tungsten carbide super materials. Primary Function: The Equipment Engineer plays the lead role in the development of systems, procedures, methods for maintaining site equipment, and will drive improvement efforts, develop operating methods, and create procedures with a view to being a key contributor to the Engineering team’s activities.

Requirements

  • Education. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth technical understanding of CVD diamond-synthesis reactors and other site equipment.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to evaluate and improve site equipment efficiency.
  • Develop new and standardize existing engineering and maintenance procedures and document best practices.
  • Manage projects related to equipment reliability and efficiency, commissioning of new equipment, and related tasks.
  • Prepare detailed start-up plans for new commissioning activities, integrating all discipline activities into these plans.
  • Ensure that SOP’s are frequently reviewed and modified to maximize efficiencies.
  • Proactively assist with the development and implementation of factory and site acceptance procedures.
  • Work with Maintenance staff to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Outline and specify critical spare parts and calibration equipment for both commissioning and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop training programs to assist with onboarding of new staff.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure delivery of complete and fully coordinated solutions.
  • Become the in-house expert on the production equipment and take on a supporting role for Maintenance Technicians.
