The Equipment Distribution Technician provides the essential function of providing and maintaining equipment throughout the hospital. This function is provided by effective decontamination, assembly, delivery, and quality control of items needed for safe, effective and personalized patient care. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Good communication skills
PC literate
Ability to meet physical demands as stated in “Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions” at the end of this purpose description

Nice To Haves

Nursing Assistant certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Cleans and decontaminates equipment and supplies for storage and/or direct return to using unit.
Inspects all equipment cleaned for damages or scheduled Biomedical inspection and delivers to appropriate area.
Performs routine collection of soiled equipment from all using units at pre-scheduled intervals.
Distributes clean supplies, equipment, and certain instrument trays to all using units at pre-scheduled intervals or when requested.
Operates processing equipment such as Washer/Decontaminator; Steam Sterilizer; Sterrad Sterilizer, and Cart Washer.
Environmental and Infection Control Standards.
Maintains departmental records.
Inspects stores or assembles all disposables used for the equipment assembly processes.
Maintains record keeping process of all supplies issued by EDC from the ORM or DWH inventories.
Informs supervisor of inventory levels concerning raw materials, sterile reusable, and disposable single use items.
Monitors and restocks supplies for EDC.
Attends classes, meetings, workshops, in-services, and staff development.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, films, etc.
Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
