We are making a positive impact and we want you to be a part of it! www.lgeshonda.com Summary: The Equipment Data Analysis Engineer 1 will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by managing, analyzing, and utilizing equipment-related data to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and support decision-making processes in a high-tech EV battery manufacturing environment and support the manufacturing and production plan, ensure the safety of the workplace, optimize equipment & maximize manufacturing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and support line capacities through cycle time and downtime reduction activities

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent related experience
0 to 3+ years of experience in manufacturing related job or equivalent relevant experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Positive attitude, open minded, and team player
Strong self-motivation and desire to work in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and solve complex problems
Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills
Ability to manage projects and schedules
Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
Able to work in both office and manufacturing environments
Hands-on support of equipment
Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations
Flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary
This role requires up to 10% of travel (domestic and/or international)

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing co-op experience preferred but not required
Battery production related knowledge preferred but not required
CAD Software (AutoCad, Solidworks, Catia, etc.) experience preferred but not required
Korean language proficiency a plus

Responsibilities

Collecting and organizing equipment and facility operation data, including equipment parameters such as gap, temperature, pressure, and cycle time, for ongoing performance monitoring.
Investigating the correlation between machine conditions and production outcomes, identifying patterns that affect yield, equipment reliability, and process stability.
Supporting daily production by reviewing issue logs, downtime history, and quality-related alerts, and assisting in identifying root causes based on data trends.
Working with equipment engineers and technicians to adjust machine parameters or improve standard operating procedures using data-based insights.
Contributing to improvement initiatives by managing structured records of operational changes, parameter adjustments, and failure events for continuous analysis.
Participating in cross-functional meetings to share findings and support preventative maintenance and performance improvement strategies.
Helping visualize and report key metrics related to equipment health, performance, and throughput for regular engineering reviews.
Utilize data analysis and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) to lead, support, develop and justify solutions with related groups/departments to solve complex equipment related problems
Monitor and manage equipment to ensure optimal manufacturing performance and function, while minimizing operating expenses and ensuring safety
Review, analyze, and present reports to identify and communicate machine micro stops, breakdowns and yield impacts, and lead the development of countermeasures, striving for continuous improvement
Develop and ensure completion of production work orders for equipment related items by creating or updating PLC Ladder Logic, improving mechanical design, updating vision systems, updating line layouts, etc
Develop capability of self and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences
Establish priorities and make decisions based on data analytics to effectively accomplish business objectives
Test, evaluate, and implement new and innovative technologies to improve overall equipment and process efficiency
Communicate with local and international vendors and purchasing department to facilitate equipment repairs and replacement
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Perform other duties as assigned
