The Equipment Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the par level of oxygen tanks in the acute areas. The Equipment Coordinator maintains the equipment rooms contents with the list of approved items, supplied by the Clinical managers for each of the participating acute areas Responsibilities and Duties Equipment Rooms Ensures appropriate PAR levels are maintained for managed equipment and that and proper signage is displayed for PAR levels, safety hazards and compressed gas signage. Transports untagged equipment left in equipment rooms to the designated storage areas. Removes trash and keeps area picked up. Notifies EVS of any housekeeping needs in the equipment rooms. Transports and distributes tagged equipment to proper designated equipment rooms. Ensures the safe handling of managed equipment on a daily basis. Communicates with Clinical Managers to update or change any items stored in the equipment rooms. Properly identifies any listed equipment with the proper colored area tag. Communicates with Biomed to ensure which equipment belongs to which area if untagged. Oxygen Transports oxygen tanks to the areas assigned to stock. Ensures the par levels are met. Ensures transportation caddies are in their assigned areas. Removes empty/low oxygen tanks and takes them to the oxygen storage area. Wipes down the oxygen tanks of any excess dirt or debris. Communicates with the ordering personnel and RT regarding the amount of full and partial tanks. Keeps inventory of the full, partial, and empty tanks in the storage room on a daily basis. Removes any free-standing oxygen tanks, ensuring that all oxygen tanks are securely in approved holders. Completes risk report for any free-standing oxygen tanks. Identifies and ensures correct documentation of each oxygen cylinder as full, partial, or empty in each area assigned to stock. Keeps the Supervisor and Manager aware of any ongoing concerns, such as improper storage of oxygen tanks or equipment, and lack of feedback from Clinical staff when notified of concerning conditions (i.e. free-standing tanks). Additional duties include but are not limited to: Monitors and replenishes all standalone hygiene stations throughout hospital twice a week. Performs all the duties of a Distribution Clerk. Cross trained with all existing coordinators in Central Supply, to assist when needed
